Grenade chocolate orange lava cake recipe

Filled with our deliciously gooey Carb Killa® Jaffa Quake spread, these  chocolate lava cakes taste as good as they look. Don’t take our word for it – give them a go yourself! 60g Hydra 6® Chocolate Charge
15g cocoa powder
15g coconut flour
25g ground almonds
30g powdered sweetener
1 tsp baking powder
80g egg whites
100ml almond milk
100g apple puree
1 tbsp orange zest (grated)

Chocolate filling

1 tbsp Carb Killa® Spread Jaffa Quake


  1. Preheat oven to 170°C
  2. In a large bowl combine the Hydra 6® Chocolate protein powder, xoconut flour, cocoa powder, ground almonds, baking powder and sweetener
  3. Add to the bowl the egg whites, almond milk and apple puree and mix well
  4. Now add in the grated orange zest and mix again
  5. Spray a muffin tray with non-stick and place a tablespoon of the cake batter into the muffin tray
  6. Carefully add the Carb Killa® Spread (approx. 1 tablespoon)
  7. Add another tablespoon of cake batter on top
  8. Repeat until all the cake batter is used up
  9. Bake in the oven for approximately 15 minutes (Try not to over-bake as you want the middle to be nice and gooey)
  10. Leave the cakes in the muffin tray for about a minute before you remove them
