how to take pre-workout

We’ve all downed a pre-workout, desperate for a much-needed energy boost after a hectic day or ahead of a heavy leg sesh. But, have you ever wondered whether you could spice up the way you take this popular supp? Well, here’s four weird and wonderful ways you can up your pre-workout game.

Jelly shots

No, we’re not talking the vodka kind. Perfect for those who struggle to down their pre-workout drink, a jelly shot could be a great alternative. Simply grab a sachet of your fave jelly and prepare according to the instructions on the packet. Before setting, scoop in your pre-workout powder, pour into shot glasses and then refrigerate until suitably wobbly! Jelly shots are a lot easier to eat than knocking back a glass of your usual pre-workout drink, making this a great option for when you’re in a rush. And you can prepare a few in advance too – win!

Slushies

Who doesn’t love a slush puppy? We’re taking it back to your childhood with this one but, instead of simply turning your tongue blue, this pre-workout slushie will give you that much needed pre-lifting buzz. Pop your pre-workout powder into a blender, along with a cup of ice and a chilled juice of your choice – make sure it complements your pre-workout flavour! Blitz all these together, pour into a glass and enjoy! Not quite slushy enough? Just add more ice and blitz again.

Heat one cup of water in a pan and add in 1-2 scoops of pre-workout and a packet of unflavoured gelatin. Simmer for 10-15 minutes and then carefully pour the mixture into your tray. Freeze for an hour and then remove from the tray. Store your sweets in an airtight container.
