There’s so much BCAA info out there that it can lead to muscle supplement madness! Our advice; KEEP IT SIMPLE
Eat high quality protein rich food along with a pure BCAA supplement for added results / recovery and workout smarter.
Branched Chain Amino Acids are the building blocks of muscle mass and size. BCAAs are absorbed directly into the muscle tissue and metabolized quickly, because of this, BCAAs commonly support:
• Strength and power*
• Muscle building potential*
• Quick recovery after workouts*
• Energy levels*
BCAA supplements are essential for anyone who trains regularly and wants to preserve lean muscle while preventing catabolism.* Protein supplies the building blocks necessary to repair and build muscle tissue after your workout is complete. These proteins will then be broken down and disassembled into amino acids.
There are 22 different amino acids in the body, all of which have a unique function. The Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs), so named because of their unique branched chemical structure, are essential in that the body cannot make them from other compounds
There are nine essential amino acids that the body cannot manufacture itself and therefore must be consumed through food or supplementation. Of those nine, L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine play the most critical role in muscular development.
As BCAAs are metabolized in the muscle and not the liver, they are used by the body to build and repair lean muscle mass. The body can also utilize BCAAs to:
- Provides the body with an additional fuel source
- Helps kick start protein synthesis
- Prevent muscular breakdown
- Supports faster recovery – Faster recovery means FASTER RESULTS!
Grenade ® BCAAs are a huge 8:1:1 ratio to incorporate a high-dosage of Leucine. Leucine is probably the single most important amino acid for strength and power athletes and bodybuilders.
This BCAA, even at modest levels, can literally “turn on” muscle-building activity. No other single amino acid is known to do this to any significant extent on its own. Also, studies suggest that adding additional leucine to protein can increase the magnitude of protein synthesis (the process that builds muscle).
Grenade® BCAA 8:1:1 is a premium grade, high ratio split of the three essential Branched Chain Amino Acids – L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine and L-Valine. Each serving delivers 2400mg of L-Leucine, 300mg L-Isoleucine and 300mg of L-Valine.

How to Use
There is no right or wrong way when it comes to BCAA supplementation. Depending on your diet (regular intakes of protein throughout the day) Grenade® would recommend taking BCAA 8:1:1 pre and post workout.
Taking 5 capsules 30-40 minutes pre workout. This guarantees sufficient levels of amino acids are in the blood stream to support both energy production and help prevent muscles from going into a catabolic state (muscle breakdown). A further 5 capsules immediately after training when your muscles have the greatest protein requirement, helping to repair and recover.
Research has also shown that solely relying on a high protein meal/shake isn’t sufficient to put significant levels of amino acids into your blood stream. As whole protein sources take time to digest. BCAA 8:1:1 ensures single free form amino acids are put back into the blood stream quickly.
FAQS - BCAA 8:1:1
What are the benefits of BCAAs?
Leucine: Studies suggest that this BCAA, even at modest levels, can literally “turn on” muscle-building activity . Isoleucine: Isoleucine promotes muscle recovery, significantly increases glucose uptake and usage during exercise and stimulates human growth hormone (HGH) release . Valine: Maintains the nitrogen balance.
Will BCAAs be beneficial to me if I already eat a lot of protein?
Yes. Ingesting free form amino acids in the form of BCAAs provides different metabolic effects compared to consuming whole protein sources. Similarly, free form BCAAs will be absorbed quicker than whey protein.
Will BCAAs help me if I am dieting?
When in a calorie restricted state BCAAs are a great supplement to take. BCAAs will help preserve muscle mass when dieting.
