Key Benefits

Creatine Monohydrate is one of the most extensively studied supplements available and is widely recognised for enhancing strength [1], recovery [2], anaerobic capacity [3] and lean mass [4]. With this vast amount of research, creatine is an essential for athletes who want to maximise their high intensity exercise performance, muscle mass and physical recovery.

Creatine is a molecule that is naturally produced in the body and is also naturally found in food. Whilst not an amino itself, creatine is produced in the body from the amino acids glycine, arginine and methionine. Grenade® Essentials Creatine is 99% pure with no added fillers or bulking agents, providing an easily absorbed form of creatine.

*Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise when a daily intake of 3g of creatine is taken.

Research

Creatine works by increasing the regeneration of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is the body’s energy source, however, these stores are limited and ATP has to be continually resynthesized, which can take a long time. Increasing the amount of creatine speeds up the regeneration of ATP, which leads directly to the release and availability of more energy.

  1. It's creatine!

    by

Creatine is creatine - you know what you're getting at this point (if not, read the above Research section or use Google) and the review has to be a comparison of whether it dissolves well or affects taste.

Grenade's creatine does, indeed, dissolve well and has no noticeable effect on flavour. So far I have found that it actually make's my protein dissolve BETTER than it does without using Grenade's creatine - far less froth and what froth there is settles back down into a liquid quickly. Despite leaving my shake on the counter to settle for around 30 minutes none of the creatine fell out of the liquid either, so I can't fault it on solubility.

Flavour-wise, it's as it should be - there was no noticeable effect on my usual protein shake or BCAA mix when added to those shakes.

All in all, it's good stuff, if just a little pricier than others on the market.

  3. Quality creatine

    by

I've used other creatine before so knew what to expect. Better muscle stamina and recovery. Ticks those boxes perfectly. It combines brilliantly with Hydra 6 for a post workout boost.
As with all creatine it doesn't like to dissolve fully so drink it whilst the liquids spinning! Or in a freshly shaken shake.
